About the SKCC

The South Knapdale Community Council (SKCC) is a voluntary group of local residents who are elected to represent the views and interests of our community.

The area we represent can be found on this map: Argyll & Bute Community Councils Map

We act as a link between those who live here and public bodies such as Argyll & Bute Council, the police, and other organisations.

Our Role

➤ Hearing local concerns and ideas

➤ Commenting on planning and licensing applications on behalf of residents

➤ Speaking up on issues like roads, transport, broadband, health services, and policing

➤ Sharing information about services, plans, and developments

➤ Supporting community projects and events

➤ Helping ensure resilience during emergencies (e.g. storms, power cuts)

➤ Generally working to improve life in South Knapdale

Community Meetings

We meet quarterly, and to help meetings run smoothly and focus on what matters most, we ask residents to share any concerns or ideas with us beforehand — by email, letter, or in person.

Of course, we also warmly encourage you to come along. Our meetings aren’t only about formal business; they’re a chance to meet neighbours, share ideas over tea and coffee, and visit different corners of South Knapdale as meetings rotate between venues across the area.

You can view our Minutes of Meetings for details of previous discussions and decisions.
